I've been in a grumpy mood, so I went outside to take this picture.

This is to remind myself that years ago this place was a gravel parking area and now is a hugelkulture full of earthworms, surrounded by daffodils and herbs, and where kale is happily overwintering. Soon new plantings will go in.

Sometimes is easy to loose track of the small wins.

Unexpected morning with some helpers filling and planting this filing cabinet up outside the office. Lots of branches came down in a nearby carpark in recent storms so the bottom of this is filled with wood and leaves. We had some older planters here before and filled it with that soil and lots of bulbs and will add herbs soon. It rained as soon as we finished so we didn't even need to water πŸ˜€ #upcycling #permaculture #hugelkultur #NoDig

Engineering assistant for the city is coming and as she looks at where the tap point for city sewer will go, I'm going to ask questions re #hugelkultur . Not just assume that everything that is dug up must go back the same way.
