Have you been getting an air quality alert today? I've been getting an alert this afternoon. Meteorologist Steve Caporizzo posted a graphic at Facebook, showing that the problem is greatest in the Hudson River Valley. So, it makes sense that the air quality gets worse as a person goes west from Brattleboro.

My sense of smell is not good; but it seems to me I am smelling the wildfire smoke indoors right now.

I'm waiting to get a Quality Air Alert.

We hopped onto a train at Grand Central Station and in 90 minutes we were about 50 miles due north in Beacon, New York. We climbed ~1300' to South Beacon Mountain (1611') and then climbed the Beacon Fire tower for this view. If you look really close at the right edge of the screen, you can see the skyline of New York on the horizon. #NewYork #NYC #Hiking #HudsonRiverValley #photography
