All the mistakes/learning happen in the west. Everyone gets #railroad envy. Everything gets cheaper as it gets closer to #Ottawa.

The Central Trunk Line - Poland's original high-speed line connecting Warsaw to Katowice and Kraków - is to be 250-ready by 2027/8 now that the GSM-R buildout can resume. There's also a signed contract to get a station in Biała Rawska built by then (note that unlike Włoszczowa and Opoczno, this is actually building an infill station from scratch, not just adding platforms to an existing station for overtaking trains). Im August 2027 soll der erste Shinkansen in Indien fahren, wenn auch erst mal auf einem nur 50 km langen Stück. In weiteren Phasen wird die Strecke dann immer weiter erweitert. Es liegen auch schon recht viele Gleise und in Surat sogar Weichen, wie am Video erkennbar ist.
Tunneldurchbrüche, große Bahnhofsgebäude und recht viele Gleise: In anderthalb Jahren wird erstmals ein Shinkansen durch Indien als MAHSR fahren. Vor allem das Zentralsegment und der nördliche Bereich sehen laut einem Video schon sehr fortgeschritten aus.

One of the reasons NIMBY opposition can get a foothold is failure to use existing Rail-Right-of-Way.
For Alto, the plan is an entirely new route. The reason is the existing #RRoW is owned, aiui, by CNR due what I would describe as an exceptional subsidy to industry.
This is why the #Cascadia #HSR plan began by first acquiring RRoW from #Oregon through #Washington to #BritishColumbia. It is shovel-ready, once the plan is completed.
