Finally got around to #MichaelPollan's excellent #HowToChangeYourMind series on Netflix (w/obvs interest in the #psilocybin ep.) it's gratifying to see footage of the #MariaSabina documentary I posted here yesterday, as well as images of books & articles from #TheWassons that I've had open on my desktop for weeks. Knowing how much researchers were desperate for studies to continue after it was halted in the 70s, it feels good to be playing even a small part in bringing it back. #WorkJournal
Watched #howtochangeyourmind Ep2 today on Psilocybin. To be clear I am pretty square about drugs. I don't like the idea of altering my mind. It's a holdover from my straight-edge upbringing. And I've had horrible experience with opioid addiction in my family. But hearing the man who suffered from OCD for years describe his mushroom trip, how his self reduced to nothing and he "died" and came back as a tree, and his OCD was cured - I found myself just sobbing, and I'm still trying to process it.
