Well, we're both Puerto Rican, so we'd probably get along for a bit just with that. Commiserate over what's changed, what hasn't, rant about the state of things and our people for two hours, discuss our respective "not very Puerto Rican of you" experiences a la therapy/trauma bonding for a further two hours...
I actually don't know how Astemar would think of me though, because she's one of the few characters where I added a bit *too much* of myself in her. Partly a power fantasy...well. Power fantasy for kid me. I often have to reconsider over and over if to add something that I know would strengthen her character more/isolate her more from me. A bit of the age old question of "would I get along with myself?" Except also not really, because Astemar is slightly more of a misanthrope and devastatingly...more depressive than I am. She hides both aspects well and with the former, she's less so when around asteluxe et al. (The former is also something that I play with, with regards to Magnus, wherein he often tells her that they're good for each other because they hate others. She often disagrees though. She has a good reason.)
Maybe she might think I need to join the asteluxe "commune," so I have an IRL community for moral support. This is something she's done with all the members of asteluxe lol. (It's not really a commune, hence the quotation marks, but it's the closest thing for now.)
She definitely would not be interested in a romantic relationship with me for all the reasons, which also suits me just fine lol.
Maybe we'd bond over music lol, since she's a singer. Get me tickets, my child!

I often try to do something new in every illustration or story, just to keep my skills sharp--and also because I like experimenting! I like seeing what to do for a certain theme or mood.
For example, the first picture I've attached to this post--I inked it and colored it traditionally, with crayons, because I wanted to try out crayons lol. I hadn't scanned crayons in a while either, so I had to do some minor color correction. But it also worked out because the theme here was related to protection, especially with child Astemar involved.

Two similar experiments with trying to depict mood, more than try to draw correct "anything", were for Astemar uhhHHHhhHhhHhhh ~having relations~ with her first husband in his original form, and a younger Magnus having too much fun :v That last one has two versions, because I am Fickle, but it's really just a speech bubble that makes the difference.

I haven't done a lot of comics (yet) for this story, not as much as I'd like unfortunately. But I try to do something new there too. For a bit there, I was experimenting with the "Sunday comic strip" format. Kinda stopped because I ran out of gas for the moment and also barely anybody really seemed to care for those :P (I say, as if I did more than two lol.)
Am I just bad at them? Were the stories too silly? IDK. But the example I'm attaching, I really liked and I thought someone out would appreciate Magnus' boomer joke in the "don't quit your day job" way. Alas...

I feel like I might be moving a goal post of sorts but it's neither suppressed or celebrated, it's just there. It's more suppressed or celebrated depending on the location where the story takes place.
If I were to write about Astemar's mixed childhood (in a certain era) in two countries, it's a mix; with Puerto Rico in her time being a "nobody wants to know" vibe (suppressed?) while simultaneously everyone being okay with little girls *sometimes* wearing skirts so short, you see their panties, and then when asked about, you know, maybe consider wearing short pants, you get the whole BUT IT'S (weather) HOT spiel. In a country where most ppl wear long pants all year. Sure.
Or you get pegged as a prude for some reason because you're suppressing someone's expression. That has its limits imo but I've always been a boomer, so.
Nothing to do with sexuality to be fair, but it's more in that vein of "be consistent about appearances that cross over into it"? Idk this is a hard question lol. Because I'm also seeing this as, eg, Magnus is very private about his bisexuality but he's not ashamed of it. He wouldn't yell it out on the streets in Puerto Rico or Cuba but you might see him at a seedy underground bar in any country lol. His buddies from old days know. But nobody SAYS it. Part of it IS influenced by two axis points in his childhood (libertine parents in the US vs grandma in Cuba)...but who knows, really?
Whereas Astemar will never tell anyone what she is because lmao what are you, nuts, that can be used against her, why would you even entertain the notion.
(She's had a lot of... stuff...happen...at too early an age that she just keeps personal things hidden a lot. Plus, she's ace/demi, so it's also "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE ACE, YOU CAN'T BE ACE, YOU HAVE KIDS AND ALSO LATINA, AREN'T ALL LATINAS SEX-STARVED")

Astemar wouldn't suppress sexuality expressed in her asteluxe group or adjacent, which is why she lets Magnus' expressions fly by lol. This is half influenced by her friends being a variety of backgrounds, including outer space ones, and half influenced by how far asteluxe has reached, music-wise. A real live and let live lifer.
(I haven't mentioned Max or anyone else mainly because Magnus and Astemar, for me, are the two ends of a spectrum that better fit questions like this.)
The setting isn't really erotic unless the characters make it so. That said, whenever Astemar has to transform into her beast form as a last resort in battle, if she finds herself with Magnus afterwards, it's immediately erotic. Tensions swivel between "I hate her (form)" and "please mommy let's fuck" 
Magnus was originally attracted to her because of her immense power as a magical girl (term used for reference, she's an adult by the time she meets Magnus), but cannot grok with the twisted version of that power. But Beast!Astemar is Astemar without even less filters, so she knows exactly how to wind him up into a tizzy--almost payback for how "pushy" sexually he can be with/at her at times.
From an event last year, where I combined two prompts: "online" and "gif." For the longest time, I wanted to do something where Magnus, Astemar and Max had their own group chat--I figured it was a good time to test that lol. I still think it's funny.
Astemar is a famous singer in her world (part of a group), and beginning to get popular in Magnus and Max's world (with still the same group), so that's the extra context lol.
Some notes:
✔️ I drew Magnus' icon for this, it's just him taking some selfie in some undetermined location. He seems like the guy who'd use a photo for icons, and for private chats, some photo that looks more like a thirst trap LMAO Eventually I'll post it as a stand-alone.
✔️ Max's icon is just the helper cat meme. I almost made it be some James Cagney icon instead but it wasn't working out.
✔️ Magnus named this chat. Don't ask me why.
✔️ Olive oil is great for cholesterol.

Feel bad that I haven't uploaded art in a bit (they're all in, ah, various stages, and I've been a bit tired to go back to work on 'em--especially the game!), so have a WIP of...well, it was originally for Xmas, then I thought "eh, maybe for Three Kings' Day," and then uh, nope, here we are lol. 
I also just realized I probably should have uploaded this on substar first, but oh well. Maybe when I better refine the sketch ^^;
