Houston firefighters’ mental health risks exacerbated by long-standing problems

Firefighters are three times more likely to die by suicide than to die in the line of duty, according to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Locally, among Houston’s 3,600 firefighters, around 300 contacted the department's clinical psychologists this year.

Murder charge filed against woman accused in Houston firefighter’s death
