Anyone else feel like they're being scammed into upgrades by Hostpapa to resolve excess resource usage? For the second time in a year my little WordPress site is exceeding resources. They pressured me into upgrading to a more expensive hosting package at the end of '24 to stop this issue. Now they're doing it again.

Site has not been used for 4 years, other than keeping WordPress & plug-ins updated to the latest versions.

Just had a great customer support interaction and feel the need to give a shout out to Camille at #HostPapa who walked this tech novice through DNS issues. Responsive, patient, friendly. 5 stars! #CustomerService

Good lord. I tell #HostPapa that $700 for a three year renewal on a #webhosting plan is too pricey, and ask them if they have something cheaper. They respond with a promotional $460 plan 3-year. That seems nice until I dig enough to find out that its renewal price will be $1300!

Dude, I'm trying to cut my ongoing costs, not merely delay the price massive increase. This is a personal website, not a frigging business expense.

Anyone else had experience of Web hosting that has ticked along flawlessly for years on #Hostpapa (who took over my previous host, Lunarpages) suddenly 'exceeding limits' due to a 'fault' they seem unable to identify & help you fix, so they start trying to push you into a v. expensive 'Ultra' hosting plan that's 4 x the price & massively in excess of what your one dormant-for-three-years WP site needs?
I want to convert some 25-year old homemade websites to a modern CMS (partially to future-proof then from #hostpapa incompetence), but apparently #Wordpress makes it impossible to use upper case letters in URLs? If that's true, I'm actively angry at everyone who helped make it the dominant CMS on the Web. Why would you give that much power to control-freak programmers?
Are you thinking about #selfhosting your #mastodon server?
Dont use #Hostpapa !
It's really bad!
