Announcement to all the people out there.

The moment has come. I'm re-doing the lab hosting the various things I keep running.

I've moved this fediverse instance and the various fossil repositories to an external backup machine, because talking and keeping great software available is too important :).

Anyway.

The website currently running at abiscuola.com will go down soon, including the blog. It will come back, but I don't care about it that much to migrate it as well. It will use a different technology, so I don't care about keeping it up and running just for the current blog. I'll save and restore the content, of course, but it will have a different shape.

The RSS feed will get broken probably, but any other interesting content, in the meantinme, will be shared here on the fediverse as, differently than Mastodon, the #honknet allows me to post very long, very boring things for you to read.

Hello #honknet!

I still have a soft spot for honk, but I've been running snac and honk side by side for a bit and I'm jumping ship. Turns out the dopamine hits are addictive and @tedu was correct for leaving them out.

I may return, but this little server will be going dark sometime this weekend. If you haven't already spotted me I'm at @knapjack@elsewhere cozysumo.space and I'm still #TeamTinyFedi so spam me with your gumstix servers and potato battery UPS.

I officially have one foot in two canoes: this honk instance and a new snac instance over at elsewhere.cozysumo.space.

Not giving up on the #honknet but I've been wanting to try snac and this seemed like a good time. I had a battery of bots over at botsin.space and it's shutting down, so it was either add some more accounts to this instance that lives under my TV, pick another home for them outside my control, or do something new.

My #honknet on ramp is down again for maintenance. Turns out I didn't have enough disk space for a cleanup, and my little Pi 2 takes *forever* to process 21 GB of blob.

I may go back through my logs to see what blew it up ( @tedu incoming video maybe 🤔 ) but right now waiting for the offline cleanup and vacuum to finish. I need every iota of I/O. It'll be interesting to scrutinize when I eventually flop from DB to files.
