Holy shit.

Hongqi Bridge, spanning a dam and connecting Highway G317 linking N Sichuan to Tibet, collapsed. Spectacularly.

It was hailed as some wonder of engineering, and was recently re-opened after some incidents (largely covered up) where cracks and stress faults started to show.

Some analysts are pointing out the bridge was sound, but the work done on the mountainside, to support its construction, was not.
