🥧 August’s Homemade Pie of the Month is Pear-Raspberry Lattice Top pie from Ken Haedrich’s book Pie Academy. I used Starkrimson pears from the Columbia Gorge. 😊 The reviews call it “very summery!”

I used to send my piemaking brag-photos to my sister, but she sometimes gets so forlorn about not getting to eat them! So I’ll post here.
Our #HomemadePieOfTheMonth for June (just squeaking in!) is Cherry Custard #Pie from Ken Haedrich’s book Pie Academy.Easy recipe — could have been easier still, but I chose to use fresh cherries!
All my willpower is currently dedicated to not eating a random midday piece of this Salted Caramel Pie I made for @yaypie as April’s #HomemadePieOfTheMonth. I therefore have no willpower with which to resist boasting about it!
(Recipe from Justice of the Pies by Maya-Camille Broussard.)
Some may say I "failed to plan ahead for Pi Day” but I maintain I “decided to celebrate the Ides of March with a pie this year.” The Ides of March deserve pie, too! See the fork-tine crust? It’s stabbing-themed!
(It is an oatmeal-butterscotch pie, which is non-Caesar-related. It’s just what I’d planned for March!)
I have made a surprising variety of pecan #pies for a tree-nut-allergic baker! (My allergies don’t trigger off contact or trace amounts.)
This one, November’s #HomemadePieOfTheMonth for my co-protagonist, is a new one by me: Jellied Cranberry-Pecan Pie! (From Ken Haedrich’s cookbook _Pie Academy_.) Like most custard pies, pretty easy filling to make. I am informed the taste is complex and good, and that the berries lend a tartness unusual and interesting in a pecan pie.
