Day 16 at #RPGaDAY2023 #ttrpg
"Game you wish you owned."
#HollowEarthExpedition was a game of #PulpAdventure inside the lost world of Hollow Earth during the 1930s. Great stuff. The book had beautiful black and white art.
I passed the chance to buy the book when I had a chance 15 years ago because it was quite expensive. Years later, its publisher went under, and there have been no new editions or printing runs since.
Nowadays, HEX books are sold online for absurd amounts of money.
Conan 2d20 comes to mind. I only played it once and since have only GMed. I'd love to be a player someday.
Hollow Earth Expedition I've GMed but never played. Pulp is one of my favourite genres but I've never been a player.

#FrontierScum seems really fun for one-shots, but I'm not sure I could run a whole campaign using that system.
#OwlHootTrail looks like fun, but it is too much about transposing D&D classes and races into the Western setting.
#SavageWorlds is just a tiny bit too crunchy for me.
I also checked out two setting-appropriate #Ubiquity games: #HollowEarthExpedition and #LeaguesofAdventure, but, for some reason, they just didn't click for me.
I must really love myself. This christmas I gifted myself #D6Fantasy and #MiniSixRPG from #DriveThruRPG, found #D6Adventure: Locations in a swedish online game store and bought #RocketAgeRPG and #HollowEarthExpedition to use as settings for my D6 games.
Oh, and also dice. I bought some dice.
