While stressing and making watercolour holiday greeting cards to send for some friends and family, I learned a couple of things things about painting with water colours that I would like to share. (I'm putting them in the comments.)

Also, here's a pic of the main tools I used, and a pic of the first of the cards I made. I might share some others of the cards later when I know they've reached their recipients so that I don't accidentally spoil their surprise.

Reindeers have weird feet, btw.

@blockforest This is the design we went with (with some personalization that I erased). Not as creative as your lovely cards (which I'll send out next year), but we wanted to have both our dog and cat in a card (doggo is getting on in years...).

Here’s the second painting I did in a short class last night. Learned a method for painting miniature pine cones; love the pop of red for the berries, which mimic the shape of the blue-gray juniper berries
