First Gallant for some #AgeOfSigmar #CitiesOfSigmar stuff that I’m definitely not falling for.

But if I was… painting it like the Stir River Patrol would make it okay. Right? (Anyway - I hear they’re blowing it up - so I’ll feel right at home in it all).

So fleshy it squelches. I know I’m getting to a happy place with the skin here as it’s actually starting to revolt me. Perfect.

While I’m talking/painting shite - here’s the current state of affairs for my gallant court of noble sons and daughters of finery and good breeding.

Gonna break the seal on this going to a Gaming Club hang-up of mine.

Game of #Spearhead agrees to, not a single miniature painted for it nor a single rule in my head. Got a fortnight-ish…. Week and a half.

Let’s get cracking so 😂😅

With my dwarf outpost looking good it’s time to complete things. Every good Dwarf needs an Orc. (To make it a dead dwarf and therefore a good Dwarf).

First five of an Orc Battle March.

Got time today to zone out and get stuck into hobbying. @DoctorSpork’s absolutely awesome Space Dwarf hold has been stuck in purgatory - well that quandary took a hell of a step towards being resolving.

I cannot tell you how much I love this scenery piece. And it comes up so well without mountains of effort.

The #FleashEaterCourts Spearhead is now (baring one standard Bearers Arm) built and has sand on all the bases. I’ve added lots of daft gubbins that will make this an utter nightmare to paint to everything and I’m just so very very content.

I needed some 5.25" to 3.5" and 3.5" to 2.5" drive adapters for my data hoarding tendencies and thought I'd share them with the class.

5.25" to 3.5" to 2.5" hard drive Adapters by gibbon_

Hard Drive AdaptersContinuing my series of drive adapters, here's two adapters that I needed for my file servers. They are not suited for drives that need alignment with the front (floppy drives or similar)5.25" to 3.5"If you want to put 3 hard drives into 2 heights of 5.25" and add a fan, this is for you. It will look kind of ugly (see the pictures) and the cooling will be hampered by the space between the drives not being that large, but at least there is some movement of air around them.If you want to increase the airflow around the drives a bit, you can try to use the closed version of the design. With thicker high profile drives, too much air might get pushed out again otherwise.3.5" to 2.5"Made to fit the screw base for 3.5" hard drive enclosures and keep 2.5" drives and SSDs in their place without further screws. The adapter aligns the drives so that the connectors align to close to the same plane a 3.5" drive adapter would, even if the position is off. This should make cabling and fitting less awkward.Though this model is designed in conjuction with the larger adapter it should fit in mst other scenarios as well.PrintingThe models are designed to allow air to flow along the sides, so there's a lot of openings. I printed the 5.25" adatpers with tree supports in critical areas and the 3.5" adapters with plain tree supports. You need two of each, mirror the model so you have the correct alignment for the other side of the drives.Material shoudn't matter that much though I'd recommend PETG because the drives may exceed the glass transition temperature of PLA.

It is done! All three Miscast Swordmaster and the Permadeth one are painted up.

For this set, I put myself up for a challenge: It's the first time I actually used oil paints for miniatures, and to make things more interesting, I relied on the Zorn palette, using only Burnt Umber, Red, Black, and White, mixing all the other shades from those four tubes.

I experimented with different ways to thin the paints (lighter liquid ending up being a huge boon: It dries a lot faster), how to mix things, how to push paints around, achieving a somewhat metal look with the non-metallic paints, mostly using only one sized brush (and that one not even with that fine a tip), and most of all: Coping with the tediously long drying times between the different paints and layers.

All in all, I am pretty happy with the result I must say. These four guys are each unique, and while they share the palette, they definitely each have their own paint scheme, and from half a meter, they look really good.
