The MN #HighwayPatrol within a couple months back pre-Covid: 1. Trooper in far right lane, I-35-E SB in #WhiteBearLake area just as #HOV lane starts, for which I have the #MNPass device. I'm doing 8-over, his presence of course has the right 2 lanes doing 5-over. Pulls me over. (...cont'd)

If you drive an electric vehicle, plug-in hybrid or low-emission vehicle, your HOV lane access will expire Oct. 1, 2025. This means on many federal highways, using the high-occupancy vehicle lanes in a car with less than two occupants will no longer be allowed.

With the current administration's rejection of policies that supports alternative fuel vehicles, it seems unlikely that GOP congress will keep the #HOV lanes open to single occupant #ElectricVehicle drivers after September 30th. 😢 BUT wouldn't those federal rules only be applicable on FEDERAL roads?
