Ghostly projections of sailing ships glided beside us. On the horizon, a yellow-green #glow silhouetted two sailing ships and two steamships.
One of the steamships had four funnels.
My eyes locked on it, and my heart raced.

The first few times, I explained that you must have been picked up by another ship, but no one #listened. Mrs. Chalmers said, "Oh, you poor dear" and patted my arm. Mrs. Lincoln gave me the same look she'd given little Jimmy when he asked if an aeroplane could take him to visit his brother in heaven. Miss McAllister turned away to cry.
How honest are your characters? #TimeTravelAuthors
Clara always tries to be honest (though she also tries to be nice, so sometimes she ends up struggling). Liam and Oliver are very honest. I'd say Sahar is even blunt! Rocky and Emma, a touch less honest. (Even honest characters might lie to themselves.) #HistorytownAZ
Day 17 #TimeTravelAuthors I don't think I'd go so far as to say "butterfly effect," but it's clear that you can mess up the future by changing the past. In Immigrants' Journey, the characters fear causing paradoxes and are VERY worried about changing history and affecting one life. #HistorytownAZ

Immigrants' Journey focuses on Clara and Liam and the difficulties of their romance.
Clara's sister Emma also gets a romance arc. (I love her LI!)
And we meet Sahar's husband, who she adores.
And there's lots of platonic and familial love. Love for all!

"Political?" The epigraph (chosen years ago) is starting to feel bold in today's climate. I'm not sure how closely the "near future" in Immigrants' Journey matches our near future, but anti-immigrant sentiment probably did emotional harm to Liam in his childhood. #HistorytownAZ
