Going through her deceased mother's belongings, Alina Lange discovered an old collection of recipes - an emotional find that led her to ponder the question:

What role (if any) do emotions play when it comes to giving or following instructions? Are how-to books really devoid of sensory and emotional experience?

Identity and Emotions in the Long Eighteenth Century: Representing Oneself and Others in the Diary of the Marchioness of Fronteira | Espacio Tiempo y Forma. Serie IV, Historia Moderna

I'm listening to Mary Beard's #SPQR , and feeling suddenly a deep connection to #cicero who, on the death of his beloved daughter Tullia, buried himself on a remote island into all the books on grief, death & consolation he could get his hands on and started on his own essay on consolation, the #consolatio , that is regrettably lost.

Über Balkonkonzerte, Pandemien und subjektive Emotionalität in der Geschichtsschreibung reflektiert Marie Louise Herzfeld-Schild im neuen Blog ➡ Going Viral. Music and Emotions during Pandemics 1679-1919:

I am writing an article on ambivalence in ecological transformations, and specifically about a process of a remediation of a chemical waste depot. The thing is, that the environmentalists are not too keen on the remediation - they are ambivalent towards a myopic technoscientific discourse. It’s my first effort to write something that connects #historyofemotions with #envhist (and using anthropology) so if ppl have tips or great reads let me know. @histodons @envhist
