#mirrormonday at Kristinehofs malmgård many years ago. This white 1790s gown in embroidered linen is probably one of my most worn gowns.

Finished my Robe Volante which have been in my UFO pile for several years. Black silk taffeta and metal lace from my stash. I need to do a few changes in the front, but in the while I’m pleased with it. Though my hoops has a nervous breakdown when we were about to leave and had to stay at home. I never thought wearing a black tent would feel so flattering.

Like looking into the past through an open door.

Gamle Rådhus is one of the oldest restaurants in town.

Dearest gentle reader; The Oslo Opera Ball was last night and it is the biggest event of the season (at least in these parts).
I always get so hot from all the dancing so I made a Bridgerton inspired waistcoat in a floral cotton for this ball (not that historically accurate but very playful).

I feel a bit silly without a beard or a moustache, but that’s the regency fashion.

So happy! One more post from the Christiania Regency ball. You should have been there!

Men are always in demand during ball season. 🕺 a friend wanted me to take him to one of the historical balls I go to. And I was more than happy to dress him up and take him dancing. Here I have made both the outfits, and I took all the compliments that he got as my own.
A bit panicked sewing to finish my new tailcoat in time. But I’m very satisfied with the results.

Best dressed at the Gatsby New Year’s ball, or cultural appropriation? In the 1920s Egyptomania and the orient was a big fad. People couldn’t enough of pyramids and faros and the like and it was apparent in both clothing and interior design.
