Lille Øvregaten (Little Upper Street) is one of the oldest still remaining streets in Bergen, originally beginning in the 1100s as part of a connection between the king's farm on #Alrekstad and the king's hall on Holmen, where #Bergenhus Fortress is now.
Today it is a mostly pedestrian road between the lower entrance to the Fløibanen funicular and the originally medieval Bergen #Cathedral, seen at the end of the road here. This image is from the early 60s.
On the left-hand side, you see the entrance to Bergen Latin School, of which 1600s playwright Ludvig Holberg (famously a hater of #Bergen) once was a student.
