I was on my way home when my car broke down just outside Lübeck. I had to wait until the next day to get it checked and fixed, so I took a stroll through the city.
This is the Buddenbrookhaus—though at the time, I didn’t know that. I just liked the view. Funny how some places only reveal their meaning later.
I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for Thomas Mann—something I picked up during an Erasmus semester in Turin, hanging out quite a lot with Germanistik students.

The window features the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom with its official motto "Dieu et mon droit" (God and my right 🙄) and the Lion of England and Unicorn of Scotland on either side of the shield.
