The cameos of the characters from Hirogaru Sky and Maho Girls (and yes I spotted Kabaton, Minoton, the Empress and Monda as well) were unexpected… but the wholesomeness of the episode was what really got me.
Yuki being all standoffish but taking a linking to the animal, the history of Sakura having been around since Iroha’s parents were young and then how all the other animals moved in to stop her 😭
I haven’t been as emotional during an episode for a while.
Some final thoughts on #HirogaruSkyPreCure (thread ahead)
Conclusion first, I’d rank this season higher than many, but it won’t replace my top tier PreCure series. The main reasons are that it didn’t have the greatest villains (Kabaton was interesting, but the ones that followed were unimaginative in their schemes to fulfill their mission) and the main characters had less development in the second half.
Nevertheless it was trying a few new things, had an interesting world building, and the main plot regarding the villains really got me thinking - also the resolution convinced me.
Since I’m such a long standing fan of the #precure franchise I keep putting off to write concluding comments about the recently finished shows because I feel I need to say something substantial 😕
So just very quickly: #OtonaPrecure was a bumpy ride and I feel like I’m still not done sorting my thoughts about why I didn’t quite like it.
#HirogaruSkyPrecure was above average and had some really good parts and only minor things where other seasons did better.
Maybe I’ll have more time to elaborate soon.
I really liked adding more characters to this piece bit by bit as they appeared in the show.
I’m already thinking of how to do something similar for the upcoming series.
Soaring to the Sky!
With the addition of Cure Majesty I can now declare this piece complete.
I didn’t really consider it a possibility that Cure Noble actually killed someone believing that it’s to protect her people, although it would have been quite the interesting twist. Nevertheless, the conflict of Sky kingdom and Undergu empire is more complex than I expect from a children’s show.
The final battle is really memorable. The appeal to talk rather than fight, the team effort to protect the city, and finally Dark Cure Sky are above an average season finale for me. Also a really good detail how they’re probably a team because Noble was lonely and would have liked companions.
Surprisingly, my local Manga and merch shop had some of the new #Precure figures so I got them before they are gone. Sadly I’m now missing Cure Wing and Cure Prism.
An online search only got me a few sellers on eBay who ship directly from Japan and where one figure costs like 50 USD with „free“ shipping, and not all ship to Germany.
I think my best chance to complete the team without horrendous costs is my upcoming trip to Japan 🤔 But if you know any shops in Germany that imported them and still have stock I’d like to know!
“Wonderful Pretty Cure!” will appear in “Hirogaru Sky! PreCure Thanksgiving”! The performance on February 18th will be live streamed for a fee
