This isn't the Clamtones but #TheFlyByNiteJassBand, a nutty early 70s Portland-based #jugband revival act with ties to the #HolyModalRounders, who were then living & gigging locally on the same circuit. They only ever issued an obscure 7" EP that I'd love to hear someday. Hey #PDX people: ever see/hear anything more about these goofballs?

Seems Mother Earth have been relegated to a mere hippie footnote . . . but make no mistake: band leader & singer #TracyNelson had the pipes, the inspiration, and the soul to create a major body of late 60s/early 70s work that equalled that of Grace or Janis. She slays me in this one every time.

I’m not doing ‘instafest’ (trending app creating a festival poster from your audio listening habits) but I do know that if I did and it was a real festival it would be so epic I might not survive it because there would be brown acid and hooch and nakedness and as a northern lass I’d try to manage all this without a proper coat. #hippiemusic
