what a tone-deaf article. As a tenured professor from a working-class home, I can say that there was *never* any possibility of studying anywhere but the local place as an undergrad. My full scholarship couldn’t cover travel, room, board. Canadian scholarships didn’t. Few do today. So what? The real issue is middle-class colleagues’ assumption that where you study=an index of ability. Not so.
