There might be too many “genius works it out” human deux ex machina like resolutions to the plots in High Potential.

Especially when binge-watching self-contained 45-minute episodes.

I might have to ration episodes to one a week, or even spread them out further.

I’m on episode 3 of High Potential and not one suspect being interviewed in the police station has had a lawyer present. Out of about 6 interviewees.

I’m mean, come on.

One rich suspect was rescued by their lawyer in the pilot, but even they were answering questions without a lawyer present.

There are lots of black screen sections between scenes in High Potential. I assume they would be places for ad breaks on ABC when it’s broadcast in the USA.

Very jarring to my BBC, and UK TV in general, trained eyes.

I enjoyed that. It has the pilot feel that many new shows do. Explaining back story, setting up characters and pretexts etc.

But good. I’ll watch more.
