This cat might look like a big Milky(Way) but I don't think it wants to play Maron. You're gonna end up yelping in pain like with that old Shiba dog in the park last week... There was no contact, and Maron handled the rejection well..
It worked out this time.. Around here there are 3 cats that have the same markings as MilkyWay. This one has the longest tail. It's the short, medium, and long tail lengths that clued me in to the idea that there are 3 different possible Milky ancestors in this area. This one's eyes seem to be a different color than Milky's... Hopefully it won't find it's way to our place and start eating Silky chicks..

I wonder if this cat is our (temporarily I hope!) kitten's father. We think the mother may have been the white cat car kill I saw a week or so ago. Some JHS girls on bikes were looking at it wondering what to do. They were frozen. I told them that if you touch that cat and it's still soft it's edible, but not if the body has hardened and stiffened already. That started to unfreeze them. I had to yell "joke!": it's a cultural thing in all sorts of ways. I told them I'd be back in the afternoon and if it was still there I'd bury it. That morning was busy and the cat was on a neighbor's property line, and we don't feed feral cats... I might have buried it anyway if it was a more leisurely morning but it was probably a Monday, with a first period class... Milky Way the (adopt me please!) feral kitten that got into our place looks more like this big cat.

At first the cat was hoping to be unnoticed, like avoiding eye contact and wishing us away could influence reality. Then sounds came out of it's mouth. I can't hear very well but I got the impression Cat was saying "move along before I eat your dog, and maybe the fingers around that camera..." Seemed big for a cat. Maron is more heavy and solid that a feral house cat but she's not aggressive and is shocked when others don't want to play. She's the Zora Neale Hurston of Shiba dogs...
