Clindamicine should clear it quickly and the metformin should prevent it from appearing while I keep losing fat.
We'll see. I hope so.
#hidradenitis
#Hidradenitis suppurativa (acne inversa) is linked to #diabetes mellitus. In the affected, #SPINA_GR is reduced and not compensated by #SPINA_GBeta resulting in low #SPINA_DI. This phenomenon may be mediated by inflammation, as shown by ties to #haptoglobin.
Background: Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease often associated with metabolic disorders such as diabetes mellitus. Recent research suggests a link between systemic inflammation and insulin-glucose dysregulation in HS. This study investigates the relationship …
#Thyroid diseases and #hidradenitis suppurativa in #Finland
Introduction: The association between thyroid disorders (hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism) and hidradenitis suppurativa is controversial. Our study aimed to determine the phenotype and comorbidities of HS patients with thyroid disorders. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted in the department of dermatology, Helsinki University Hospital, Fi

The long and short of it is he found what we think is the first new gene associated with risk for hidradenitis suppurativa since the familial association with gamma-secretase genes was found > 10 years ago. And perhaps the first association with any form of HS, not just familial HS.

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with an appreciable genetic risk component. We confirmed additional high penetrance loss of function variants in NCSTN. Additionally, we found a significantly increased burden of rare missense variants in the SH3 domain of PSTPIP1in patients with HS.
Secukinumab blocks IL-17 and some evidence of efficacy in hidradenitis suppurativa in 2x RCT.
Interesting in so much this is clearly an inflammatory disease in which there is also undoubtedly an infective component.
These studies, along with efficacy of TNF blockade indicates hyperinflammation the main issue.

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic inflammatory disease manifesting in inverse body regions. In a systematic review, the role of hormones in HS will be presented to better understand the pathomechanisms of HS. The review is based on the PRISMA criteria. Systematic research was carried out us …
Today marks the beginning of HS Awareness Week. HS (Hidradenitis Suppurativa) is a painful, debilitating skin disorder that goes severely undiagnosed--most people who have it know that they get recurring boils in sensitive areas, but have no idea why. Spread the word!
