PSA: Check your firewood stacks for bats…well like, dont bother them let them hibernate but be careful pulling logs…while refilling our bins that go by the house from our drying pile we heard squeeking. It was not a mouse, but a flittermouse! Classic Big Brown bat to be by lonesome tucked into tiny cavities. The wood barn is nice and warm from wind and rain so not a bad idea…dont worry, as someone able to handle bats just tucked it back in a crevice that is in the stack we wont be using this winter so it should be able to go back into full torpor undisturbed for the rest of the winter.

I don't know why I didn't notice this before, but apparently support for #hibernation of portable computers is very poor on #Linux, for "reasons" that no one seems to be able to explain.
The #ACPI power management standards are not new, and if Microsoft and Apple can figure it out, there's no reason why Linux kernel developers can't, even if it's only supported on modern hardware, and by "modern", I mean anything from Intel's 4th generation (2013, "Haswell") chips to the present*.
