Freesia caryophyllacea is a dwarf, perennial geophyte endemic to the #WesternCape and forms part of the #fynbos. The species occurs from #Wolseley to #Swellendam, #Hermanus and the #AgulhasPlain. The plant grows to a height of 5 to 10 cm. The plant has already lost 77% of its habitat to agricultural activities, urban development and invasive plants. The phenomenon is still ongoing.

Nice article about a #RoadTrip with a first generation electric #BMW #MINI from #Hermanus to #Johannesburg and that you can already successfully do such a long distance trip even with a city #EV (range ca. 140km) in #SouthAfrica - even though charging infrastructure still needs to significantly improve of course:
