Sunday 29th June, the WakeHereward Project commemorates Hereward's knighting at Peterborough 957 years ago. We will also begin the process of petitioning the Dean of Peterborough to have Hereward absolved from his excommunication following his raid on Peterborough on June 2nd 1070.

The #Hereward Community Rail Partnership (CRP) has upgraded its website into a comprehensive hub for travel and tourism in North #Cambridgeshire, thanks to over £4,000 of funding from Greater Anglia’s Customer and Community Improvement Fund. The Hereward line, covering #Peterborough, #Whittlesea, #March, #Manea, and #Ely, now benefits from a revamped website featuring drone footage, travel guides, itineraries, interactive and walking/cycling maps. The upgrade aims to inspire sustainable rail-based tourism and make travel planning easier. Wendy Otter from Fenland District Council praised the improvements for promoting local tourism and accessibility, while Greater Anglia’s Scott Dolling highlighted the railway’s commitment to supporting local communities. The fund supports community-led rail projects that bring local and societal benefits across the Greater Anglia network.
