Hereford FC sacked manager Paul Caddis. He is one of football's good guys, and i am sad about it.
It has been a disaster on and off the pitch, but the playing problems were there pre-season.
Hours before he was sacked, I resent an email to a friend dated 2 days before the season saying that we had lost good players and not replaced with the same quality.
The Board, as well as the manager, should have known this and acted on player recruitment in August.

In almost 60 years of following Hereford United/FC there have been many highs and many lows. Today is a new type of shame, maybe reflective of the state of the country where racists feel emboldened.
However, top marks to Paul Caddis, a man who will always call it straight, saying it is the saddest day of his footballing life. He never hides, never passes the buck, never dresses up the truth, never both sides issues. A breath of fresh air.

Thrilled for Mustapha Bundu that Plymouth beat Liverpool. He was adored by Hereford faithful when he played at Edgar Street. He then moved to Denmark and a spell at Anderlect was not a success. He fully deserves today. He loved his time at Hereford although he was far too good for us.

After today's loss it is virtually certain that Hereford will be in the National League North next season. For those who have never watched football at this level, it would be fair to say that I have taken one for the team. It is a special form of nightmare between the fun of semi-pro and amateur football below it and the quality of professional football above it.
Alfreton on a cold Tuesday night is probably the ultimate non football.

For the first time since Sept 2019 when Peter Beadle was sacked, I think we can officially say Hereford are back.
Goodbye to the Richards/Harris/Slade/Gowling negativity. Goodbye to "Alfreton is a tough place to go" after a 1-0 defeat.
Trailing deep into the second half, Andy Williams won it in the 98th minute. Second game running won in injury time.

It's Christmas and Hereford are 4th in the table after a last gasp victory against Spennymoor. This is way above expectations given the turnover of management and players this summer. Real hope of a place in the play-offs this season. Most optimistic we have been for several years.
