I think I’m sorry/not sorry to have missed #HerculesInNewYork on #Monsterdon last night. Normally I’d be all in on a terrible piece of Schwarzenegger history. But I had other things afoot last night. And looking back at the posts, it might have been just as well.

The @miru double feature is pretty hilarious, and seems like it was made as an excuse to riff on an old italian Hercules film, very #monsterdon. The one guy sounds a lot like Kevin Murphy which only helps.

In the category of Live Action Cartoon, I give #HerculesInNewYork 3 of 5 stars. Most of what amused me was the stilted dialogue delivered with the earnest certainty that gods are supposed to talk that way. I rather liked Hercules's fish out of water arrogance. The complete absence of guns was otherworldly.

I'm not completely sure how hard they were trying to make a comedy. Still, mildly amusing is better than it could have been. And instead of the usual #Monsterdon abrupt ending, they did try to button up the movie with a joke.
