Something we would really like to have at https://archaeo.social, but haven't been able to find the time for, is a bot that welcomes new users, gives them tips on how to populate their feed, encourages them to make an #introduction post, then automatically boosts it.
Otherwise unfortunately we see that, on a small instance like ours, most new users never get past that initial empty feed.
If anybody wants to take this on, it'd be much appreciated!
Hey, turns out employment ad scams are nothing new. Here's a beauty from 1927 that I'm absolutely certain was a totally legitimate opportunity and probably neither murder nor multi-level marketing:
Okay my Godot knowledge is not enough to find a fix for my current issue.
If I start a game of Samory there should be a loading screen, but it never appears throwing you into the game directly after some seconds. This is due to some methods blocking the main thread for a long time instead of working in the background.
I have no clue how I could solve that, I tried to thread the heavy work but that's not working as planned.
Hey #Duckduckfedi
tl;dr: I want to make a game/quiz show, and was wondering if there was any open source software for that (questions, visualizing them for the studio and videostream, buzzer controllers, points stuff like that).
So my first thought was to use the Buzzer Controllers of the PS2 Buzz Quiz Series, have a Raspberry Pi (or other mini pc) be in the studio, show something on a (or more) screen there, and link the video back into the recording equipment. I would control it from the gallery with network requests. (show points, show question, show answer(s), etc).
Maybe I'm thinking to complicated, where are using a Tricaster, maybe that thing already can do stuff like that.
Duckduckfedi: I fucked up my fstab and now my install refuses to boot. Does anyone know the most capable live image that can decrypt a LUKS volume from specifically a Fedora Atomic Distro?
Help needed! I see some odd analytics on my Itch, so I would like to know - which one of the games featured here https://nerudaj.itch.io would you be most likely to skip?
Just based on the cover image, name and description - which one of them is the least interesting/appealing?
Feel free to share your thoughts on why in the comments 🙏
