so, earlier today I made a subtle begpost as a reply to a post about how I use BikeRouter and CoMaps to bike around town to new destinations with no cellular service. that one was kinda tongue-in-cheek, low priority, just pointing out I'm currently too broke for a phone mount for my bike and a replacement Thinkpad T480 keyboard, both of which I kind of need of anybody can spare a few bucks, etc etc etc.

anyway, in the meantime, a domain I keep alive for a friend of mine who died in 2007 auto-renewed, and my penny hosting account got suspended because of it. that's the account where I have my CalDAV server... and I *just* got done overhauling my entire calendaring & tasks setup to use it. so now that's offline.

I am flat broke and could really use $22 to bring that account back online. anything beyond that would go toward a bicycle phone mount and/or a T480 keyboard (my M key and arrow keys are dead).

My girlfriend is in the worst financial situation I've ever seen her in. Between chronic health issues, getting absolutely fucked over by MasterCard to the tune of several THOUSANDS of dollars, and the general cycle that is living in poverty, she has nothing right now. Job hunting in 2025 is a nightmarish hellscape and the few leads she has for independent/freelance work all have upfront costs that she would recoup but can't front cash for at the moment. She's been stuck in a downward spiral for months and I can't express how fucking scared I am for her.
