A writer is touring to promote his novel. The news is all about a young Black boy who was killed, and is this the same boy that the writer is talking to? Why is it hard for the writer to remember his past, or even what's real and not real?

This book is, by turns, moving, uncomfortable, earnest, angering, depressing, and surgically poetic, if that's even a thing. 5 stars.
