Not gonna lie, the free PS5 upgrade for Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is really making me want to re-experience that story.

So mind-blowing when I played it years ago.

How could it possibly be any better.

At long, long last - Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice launched as a timed PS4 console exclusive, where it really resonated with the PlayStation fanbase. #HellbladeSenuasSacrifice https://gamesense.co/game/hellblade-senua-s-sacrifice/news/discuss/hellblade-senua-s-sacrifice-ps5-upgrades-are-finally-getting-parole-from-xbox-jail/

*Senua cowers in horror, mugging for the camera with a pitiful expression as a large monster approaches*

Voice In Her Head, Helpful: She's scared! #HellbladeSenuasSacrifice

Voices In My Head: "Senua! Look Senua! The Boss is charging up! Senua, it's a DPS check! Senua you have to deal a certain amount of damage quickly or you're fucked! Senuaaaaaaa!" #HellbladeSenuasSacrifice
#HellbladeSenuasSacrifice is not warding off the suspicion that the Voices In Your Head gimmick is less about attempting to convey the plight of a girl with schizophrenia than it is a desperate hope that maybe you'll feel something if The Voices In Your Head scream in your ear that you should.
I really cannot emphasize enough that every time #HellbladeSenuasSacrifice tries to excite me in some way - a scary chase scene, a dark horror scene, an intense fight sequence - the execution leaves me at a *complete* fucking emotional flatline
Man I feel like I'm really trying to give #HellbladeSenuasSacrifice a fair shake but this combat is *unspeakably* bad. I think this is about as bad a combat system as you could possibly make with the amount of money obviously put into this game.
Pacing is glacial, the script thus far seems to begin and end at "Marvel At The Mentally Ill Norse Lady!!!", the combat is laughably simple, the puzzles are sluggish and insipid, and the Voices In Your Head gimmick is mostly just obnoxious. A cornucopia of Mistakes #HellbladeSenuasSacrifice

#HellbladeSenuasSacrifice has exactly 2 positive points that I could name so far, both of them rather small when it comes to actually playing.

1.) It was considerate enough to pay somebody to be a Mental Health Advisor before it tried to write a mental illness story.

2.) Aesthetic design is okay.

Beat the first boss, stopping there.

#HellbladeSenuasSacrifice seems like an utterly *dreadful* video game and I am currently *baffled* that it warranted an extremely high-budget sequel lmfao
