Of course if you are christian you should defnitely visit Trier this April during the annual ten-day religious festival called the "Heilig-Rock-Tage" (Holy Robe Days)
All kinds of activities and festivities from 04/21 to 04/30: Services, masses, dancing even queer nightprayer.

Luckily, above mentioned 12th century sources were found just in time for the dedication of the new cathedral in Trier, much to the chagrin of a rival abbey nearby that was in possession of Christ's sandals, the most valuable relic to up to that time.

If you want wo watch it - behind glass of course - you should come to trier. Its fascinating even if you dont believe in any of this.
Trier is worth a visit if you interested in history anyway.

In preparation for today's film, I would like to tell you about the Holy Robe of Trier. It is a relic in the cathedral of my hometown.
As we all know from the Bible, Jesus' robe was cut into 4 pieces by Roman soldiers after his crucifixion. One of these pieces, according to 12th century sources, was brought to Trier in the 3rd century by Helena, the mother of Emperor Constantine, where he had his official residence at the time.
