WIN A SATURDAY TICKET FOR DEFENDERS OF STEEL 2026

Defenders of Steel Festival has teamed up with TheNwothm.com to give you the chance to win a Saturday day ticket for this year’s event. The festival spans two nights, and while Friday’s show at KAPU is already sold out, Saturday is still open for anyone ready to dive into a full evening of heavy metal. On May the 9th, Alter Schachthof in Wels hosts a stacked lineup featuring Demon’s first-ever appearance in Austria, along with The Night Eternal, Mindless Sinner, Wytch Hazel’s second set, Vulture, Eisenhand, and Zeper. It’s a huge night, and one lucky winner will get to experience the entire Saturday show for free.

IronFest Open Air important updates

IronFest Open Air, the celebrated rock and heavy metal festival, proudly announces its sixth edition from Thursday 28th to Saturday 30th May 2026 at Ohmbachsee.

After a quieter period in recent weeks, the IronFest team is ready to share important news. Over the past five years, the festival was developed and hosted by a small group of three to four organizers and a dedicated team. That model has now reached its limits. To secure the future of IronFest, the organizers have founded the IronFest Förderverein (IFF) – an association for the promotion of art and culture, with a special focus on rock and heavy metal music. The IFF will be dedicated to IronFest Open Air and other cultural events moving forward.

This marks a new chapter: IronFest is coming back stronger, more passionate, and more collaborative than ever. With the support of new club members and a growing community, the festival is being placed on a sustainable foundation – truly from fans, for fans.

Further updates will be shared in due course, including band announcements, community initiatives, and details on how fans can get involved in shaping the future of IronFest.

Ironfest 2026

Ticket Pre-Sale Details Pre-sale begins on Wednesday 19th November 2025 at 8:00pm. To ensure reliable planning and infrastructure, camping tickets will no longer be sold individually. Instead, they are only available as part of a bundle with a Festival Ticket.
