Spring has been so cool and gorgeous. Almost made me forget the Heat Dome of 2021. Almost 90 days of 95-100+F heat with zero rain. Half of British Columbia and eastern Oregon burned. #HeatDome2021

Looks like a similar #heatdome to the one that hit British Columbia #BCheatdome a couple of years ago is now hovering across the southwest of U.S.

Hoping the best for folks across the border. The #heatdome2021 killed almost 620 in B.C.

The 2021 Western North America heat wave (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021_Western_North_America_heat_wave) was an extreme heat wave that affected much of Western North America in June-July 2021.

This was a 1000-year weather event, made 150x more likely by climate change. A study in Nature Climate Change estimated that its occurrence, previously thought virtually impossible, may occur every 200 years under current climate warming.
