So today #OFSTED inspections resume... and we will soon be able to tel whether new leadership has shifted the attitudes & approaches of inspectors or if they pious words being spouted by Martyn Oliver are just that... words.

One good move: inspections can now be paused for a day (and up to five times) allowing #headteachers who require support to access it.

But in the end, only a change in the bullying culture of inspectors is going to start us on a road towards better inspections.

Well, well, well, at the #RuthPerry inquest, #OFSTED have been accused of giving misleading statements about the training available to inspectors on assuring #Headteachers' wellbeing during inspections.

Its almost like OFSTED is trying to avoid responsibility by taking the 'bad apple' defence by suggesting its the inspectors at fault not the system itself....

It will be interesting to see how this plays out for them

As NEU votes to campaign to abolish OFSTED & ex-#Headteachers start to resign from #OFSTED (as a way of making it inoperable), Paul Whiteman of the NAHT observes:

'We now know, not just through the tragic death of Ruth Perry but the others that have come to light since, that not only does [inspection] create stress within the system, but that it is a serious stress that is leading to harm. It has to be dealt with immediately'!

A new method of oversight is urgently needed
