Last week in the Kampina near Oisterwijk, two old trees stood as one in a vast field of tall grass, backlit by the rising sun and softened by morning haze. Shot with a Canon 5DSR and Sigma 24–70mm, using light and atmosphere to shape depth and calm.

Golgotha

These three trees in Olsberg have fascinated me for years.
A few years ago, during the severe bark beetle infestation, they were bare and on the verge of dying.
They remind me of the three crosses on Golgotha – and therefore fit perfectly into Holy Week.

Kind of an amazing feel to this European scene, maybe civilization in its glory stage, before we started looking through the closet for the skeletons ✨

The colors are so amazing, pink and purple and maroon in shadows, just enough variation in the sky that it has traces of cloud vapor, a little bit of haze in a bright blue day❤️
