Growing up we lived in the country on a portion of a very large farm where my parents rented just the outbuildings and home from a lady who had grown up there as a child. My earliest encounter was when I was about four years old. I was staying with my paternal grandparents at their home in Monroe City, MO. The home had been in our family since 1886, which put the home turning 100 the year I was born.
