PSA: If you’re traveling to #SalemMA for #HauntedHappenings take the MBTA. The Salem Commuter Rail station is 2 blocks from where the spooky stuff starts. And all the attractions are fully walkable from there. There’s also a sightseeing trolley that people like.
Parking is frustrating, ridiculously expensive, and very hard to find, let alone the traffic. The trains are sometimes crowded, too but it’s nowhere near as bad as driving.
Sincerely,
A Salem resident who knows what he’s talking about
Went to the Salem Witch Museum. Glad we did it cuz it's a thing you do when you're in Salem, but it... was not good.
They sat us along the wall, then proceeded to shine lights on displays along the same wall, so half of it was above and behind us.
Plus the presentation clearly hasn't been updated since, like, the 60s, and was problematic at best (like hailing a man as a hero for having the courage to spank his young, female servant.)
Spending the afternoon #geocaching our way through #Salem today.
