Been playing A Game About Feeding A Black Hole while doing rote testing.

It's a mouse-movement interaction based incremental game in which you have to break up asteroids to feed them to a black hole.

Anyway, I pretty immediately was compelled to fully clear the asteroid field into my hole because I started buying any modifiers to increase the number of asteroids and render this need impossible to fulfill.

Fortunately, there was a gameplay and upgrade path that catered to this, and I even got a somewhat uncommon achievement for it.

You can tell that Is This Seat Taken was made by a European team because its New York train level bears no resemblance whatsoever to the subway. :)

This week, @gemsmoke and I have been playing Poti Poti's wonderful little logic puzzle game.

Tied together by a sweet and engaging narrative about chasing your dreams and criss-crossing Europe at a whim.

It's your job to happily seat a disparate group of shape-people in a shared space so that each of their preferences is met.

Some want to be alone, while others wish to find someone to chit-chat with. Some want to watch something on their phone, some want to shoulder-surf their videos, while others want to be out of earshot of braying technology.

While we get to visit diners, clubs and football grounds, the heart of the game involves catching public transport of various forms.

It's available on consoles and on PC via Steam (https://store.steampowered.com/app/3035120/Is_This_Seat_Taken/), and costs less than 10€ at full price.

Amid all the talk of Santa Ragione's HORSES and its banning from a number of digital platforms, I've yet to see much that delves into the politics that visibly form the bones of the game, and which are every bit as on-the-nose as is required in these times.

@gemsmoke and I spent three or four hours this afternoon co-playing this monochrome, first-person horror adventure game, and I was struck by its visual and stylistic choices, and clear exposition of the roles of fear, abuse, religion, propaganda, antisexualism, and silent accedance in the sustenance and perpetuation of fascism.

The payoff of HORSES' biting satire, ramping tension, and at times harrowing narrative is joyously revolutionary when it comes, leaving the overall experience feeling far more celebratory than bleak.

It costs 5€ on Itch, GOG, and Humble.
We played the Windows version on Linux via the Itch app.

If we're lucky, we'll take a hot minute to write more words about it.

HORSES The Horror Game

HORSES is an enigmatic first person horror game that blurs the line between reality and the darkest corners of your imagination. Fourteen days, a horse farm, and a few rules to follow.
