Il direttore del Consiglio economico nazionale americano, Kevin Hassett, intervenendo alla Cbs ha affermato che il costo dell'operazione militare contro l'Iran è  costata fino a oggi 12 miliardi di dollari. Secondo le tempistiche del Pentagono fornite al Congresso degli Stati Uniti, il conflitto sarebbe costato 11,3 miliardi di dollari soltanto nella prima settimana, quella che ha visto bombardamenti più intensi e un notevole impiego di diversi ripi di velivoli. Hassett non ha specificato i dettagli della spesa. Alla domanda se gli Stati Uniti dovranno chiedere ulteriori fondi al Congresso, Hassett ha risposto: "Penso che al momento abbiamo ciò di cui abbiamo bisogno".

Last Sunday Kevin #Hassett — effectively the #Trump administration’s chief economist — was interviewed by CBS.

Just a few sentences make it clear that he is absolutely unqualified — intellectually and morally — to be Fed chair. And the fact that nobody took notice, that his ignorance and mendacity were accepted as par for the course, demonstrated just how far our standards for public service have been degraded.
