16Sept1843 Dick Curtis the ‘Pet of the Fancy’ & ‘Champion of the Light Weighs’ died at 1 Little Surrey St, Blackfriars Rd aged 41yrs, buried in St George’s Churchyard Southwark. Born 1802 Curtis fought 15x in the London Prize Ring 13win1loss1draw & 1forfeit.

The fight between Randall & Martin in Sept 1821 was immortalised in a publication titled, ‘Real Life In London, or, The rambles & adventures of Bob Tallyho, Esq, & his cousin, the Hon. Tom Dashall…’ apparently written by ‘An Amateur’ later attributed to Pierce Egan or someone unknown copying his style.

Jack Randall (1794-1828) the ‘Nonpareil’(no match or equal) was undefeated in 16x Prizefights but being a middle weight was ineligible for a Championship Title. Randall defeated Holt in May 1817 at Coombe-Warren before they became sparring partners for many years

Harry Holt trained Jack Hannan for a month prior his fight against Johnny Walker in April 1839 choosing the Bald Faced Stag at #Finchley as their headquarters. Well known pedestrian Bob Fuller assisted Holt in training Hannan which may account for his ability to last almost 4hrs in the Ring.

One of the longest #Bareknuckle fights to ever take place in the London #PrizeRing was between Jack Hannan & Johnny Walker on #Chesterford Common near #Littlebury, #Essex on 2April1839. Hannan (Seconded by Harry Holt) defeated Walker (Seconded by Dick Curtis) in 3hr48min.
