Harris County jury sentences Oscar Rosales to death for 2022 killing of constable’s corporal

Rosales, 55, was convicted of capital murder in the shooting death of Harris County Precinct 5 Cpl. Charles Galloway during a traffic stop. He is the second man in less than two months to receive the death penalty in Harris County.

Jury awards almost $38 million to five victims of Watson Grinding explosion in Houston

The explosion occurred on Jan. 24, 2020, in a residential area in West Houston near 4500 Gessner Rd. at the Watson Grinding and Manufacturing facility. Three people died, and at least 18 others were sent to nearby emergency rooms. Nearly 200 homes were reported as having some sort of damage as a result.

A San Antonio-area grandmother who sued Landry's Inc. after breaking her ankle at Houston's Downtown Aquarium in 2018 recently was awarded nearly $3 million by a jury. Landry's called the amount "excessive."
