Rigo Vivar, a former deputy for the Harris County Precinct 6 Constable's Office, was arrested and charged with manslaughter in connection to a 2024 vehicle crash that killed 28-year-old Ricardo Resendez.

Former Harris County deputy arrested, charged with manslaughter in man’s death

The crash happened in the 2700 block of Canal Street in August of last year, when deputy Rigo Vivar allegedly skipped traffic and drove the wrong way on the street, striking Ricardo Resendez's vehicle. Vivar was driving his personal vehicle at the time of the crash.

A Harris County Precinct 2 Constable's Office sergeant was struck by a U-Haul truck and killed while riding his bicycle in Katy Tuesday.

Harris County sergeant struck, killed by U-Haul truck while riding bicycle

The crash happened just after 8 a.m. Tuesday in the 11500 block of Gaston Road in Katy. The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the crash before Sergeant Manuel Edwards was life-flighted to a hospital for his injuries.
