Hosono/Suzuki/Yamashita - Pacific

The same year YMO started, Hosono and crew put together Pacific, which is a guitar/synth focused record that you can imagine hearing in the distance as you sun on the beach drinking a Jet Pilot.

The music is playful and witty (and very late-70s). A fun listen.

Despite having heard Kaze Wo Atsumete in Lost in Translation, I somehow never got around to listening to Happy End's Kazemachi Roman.

It's really fantastic, and finally available for streaming. (Good condition original pressings are super expensive; but it's been re-released a number of times in Japan.)
