Wrapped a super lovely night tonight. Shellie was special guest with Tamron for a 3hr condensed version of our Food Photography Workshop. Lovely crowd, lovely scenes and lovely photos.

These events leave us feeling really good. Whatever other bullshit is happening in our lives, we get to focus for a little while on something we do really well and focus on being useful to a bunch of nice folks. That's a win.

Anyway, we have a couple of places left for our 4-day Food Photography event in Daylesford (Australia) this May. Drop me a line if you're interested.

Shutter Speed.

Got a little snow right on twilight so popped out to play with it and the camera. Am using an LED light for this (Harlowe Blade 10). Pretty nifty bit of gear this. Have used it for a handful of projects this winter.

These frames hopefully give you a sense of what is happening behind that scene. It's getting very dark, so there's considerable contrast between the snow flakes caught in the light, and the night around us.

I've included one shot of the jetty, which catches a smudge of light from the surrounding environs, and the volume of snow painting in the rest of the scene. I'm using a Harlowe Blade 10 propped on a $20 light stand that I bought in Kathmandu :) It's just a very clean LED light that lets me set daylight or any other temp/colour I might desire.

I've just discovered Twine, a cool program for making interactive stories. They save as webpages, so to play, there's no installs or downloads needed. Was pretty excited to find this tool.

I made a little test to try out some of the features. It's super simple, takes 2 mins max to complete. If the concept sounds interesting to you, take a look and see some of the things that Twine can do!
