I will probably end up mixing the two jars of #harissa together for a balance between the two styles. I want to order the Spicy version next, which should lack the smokiness, but be even hotter.
I will almost certainly think it is too hot to eat by the spoonful, but as a point of reference, I want to try it.
The Smoky one is a lot like a good Spanish salsa brava, but a thick chunky paste. Really good!
Hit me up with your favorite #harissa. Store bought, #recipe, I don't care. I just want to find something that people think is truly representative of harissa. It doesn't have to be "the best", I want to know what people really eat where it comes from.
I have tried several things purporting to be harissa, and I have liked them all, and they have all been totally different from each other.
