THE GOBS made their name in those modern punk times.
Can something come from olympia and not be good? And without moving to Olympia WA, we get this tremendous slap of hyper-accelerated Spits-esque ultra-foli trash-garage-punk to lose your mind completely and never come back! Great buzzy punk rock that’s catchy as fuck.
The energy, hooks, and rawness elevate this above other bands, so if you’re a fan of honest, pure, the bastard child of Ramones' music gefühl, The Jabbers' no fucks given-attitude and a snarky, spiteful bunch of beer-chugging ex-punks growing fat and bitter in the Bible-belt, this is for you. It's hard not to identify with this banger!
This is pure punk euphoria so don’t even start to think you’ve heard it all yet. This is for all moaning that punk is dead, nope it is not dead. Your taste and interest is!

Citric Dummies are everything that makes modern rock n’ roll wonderful. Their energy leaps out of the speakers, their tempos will furrow the brow of any fist-pumping speed purist, and their irreverence dances quite artistically on the line between provocative and antagonistic without ever being juvenile or cruel. Indeed, the Minneapolis power trio flex their jester’s privilege on their new album Split With Turnstile with a tongue that has bored entirely through cheek, and spits just a little bit of blood at you.
More than anything, Citric Dummies represent a natural progression from bands like Reagan Youth with snappy, fast, and extremely tight drum parts that work the hell out of the closed hi-hat and fall around the speeds of bands like Generacion Suicida, Dark Thoughts, or even The Ergs! Riff-wise, the band has a lot more in common with Barely Legal-era the Hives, Dwarves, and bits of early Arctic Monkeys, while vocalist/bassist “David Lunch” shouts, bellows, and wails throughout Split With Turnstile; a plain departure from what was described as “pretty much doing a Danzig impersonation,” on their 2023 release Zen and the Arcade of Beating Your Ass. Citric Dummies, however, exude a love of absurdity that none of these bands possess.

Fish People sound like the Berlin Wall with dirty slush, like a screeching ride of a tram through the outskirts of an industrial city or the music seeping in from outside when you’re on a three-person adventure in a bar bathroom: dark-hued punkrock with lots of half-step transitions and dissonances, wailing, then roaring vocals that sound like how Siouxsie might have sounded if she had stayed punk.

Hi, Fediverse (& BSky)! My name is Aiden and I run a small recording studio that I call Scrape the Skyline. The first full project I've worked on is Gohma's Sonic Putrefaction by Means of Temporal Erosion (more below).
